To those that lack wisdom …
The term diaspora (in Greek, d?asp??? – "a scattering [of seeds]") refers to the movement of any population sharing common ethnic identity who were either forced to leave or voluntarily left their settled territory, and became residents in areas often far remote from the former. It is converse to the nomadic culture, and more appropriately linked with the creation of a group of refugees. However, while refugees may or may not ultimately settle in a new geographic location, the term Diaspora refers to a permanently displaced and relocated collective.
We over the decades have been scattered. We have been scattered so far we hardly know how we are any more. Interbreeding has all but removed any cultural identity, and created a new one. Due to persecution , we have learned how to be a chameleon. Blend in, take on the scene from what is around us. But we are told to “stand out” , not blend in.. but we have learned to be afraid. Afraid of what will happen to us. Afraid of being profiled. Afraid to identify. Yet we see many nations coming into this land , all Diaspora! Scattered! Yet they still wear the cultural clothing of the nation, speak the language, they too became afraid , but not afraid enough to forget who they are. Who is our God? Who do we serve? Why do we fear?
Now we have an new issue, who are we any way? In James the answer is clear “If we lack wisdom, let us ask Elohim! “
For me it no longer matters who I am here, it only matters who I am in Him!
Shalom
