The Strongman Series #11 - The Spirit of Infirmity
And behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years and was bowed together and in no wise lift her self!
There are two types of infirmity, a physical as well as a spiritual. Yes we can become “spiritually” infirm! I guess the best way to detect infirmity is to explore each sign of infirmness we have and compare the spiritual side of it.
Impotent - Physical - the inability to produce off spring!
Spiritual - Yes in the spiritual end we have our “kisses” , “hugs”, even caresses, but when it comes to reproducing we are firing blanks! No out reach, no street evangelism , no personal one to one, no light. Well after all there are all those street ministries right? What are they there for any way ?? As long as we personally don’t go close and wind up smelling so unclean!
We have become the new age Pharisee when we should be more like the Samaritan. We do not walk any different, talk any different, or even dress any different than the rest of this world. We try so hard to blend in .. when really we are to stand out.
Bent Body Weak spine, back -Physical we have a hard time walking, standing or even getting out of bed the pain is so great
Spiritual - The back bears the “burdens” of life! But we care less about what others are going through1 We say we love God , yet our hearts and tongues are not there. Gossip, distrust, competivness rules the pulpits of many churches, instead of visiting the shut ins we find it easier to condemn them! We become spineless followers not standing up to bring the news that He is alive! We hear the saying a family that prays together stays together this can apply to “congregation” family as well!
Frailness, Lameness, Weakness. - Physical - the ability to travel! Working at my mall in Langley I found two types of people use wheel chairs. Those that are trying to remain independent, and get things done with out being a burden and those that exploit a handicap to make a few easy bucks! Many Spritual cripples use their handicap to exploit the good will of a congregation. But we also need to be awake less we overly judge a motive .
Spiritual - Feet legs point to the carrying of the good news! Sure we congregate and sing hymns, but what about to the lost of this world ? Do you think by you closing your doors and not inviting them that you will not receive a like reward? Arms lift up! The ministry of Edifying is all but forgotten in todays church world!
Lung disorders, Asthma, Bronchitis! These affect ( infect ??) the intake of oxygen with in the body! This of course leaves the body weak to the attack of viruses.
Spiritual - I teach the Yah and Wey side of breathing when properly pronounced the “Yah” in Yahwey is a breath going in, where as the “Way” is a breath expelled. In with the new .. Out with the old! The Yah is that first breath when Elohim breathed in us and we became a living soul! We need that constant renewing of the mind and spirit before our Adonai! A constant renewing not only on a personal plain but in a congregational as a group as well! Some of our these are self inflicted and indeed as smoking leads to many “lung disorders” our spiritual uncleanness can and will lead to our own “breathing disorder”. Come out from among them and be pure!
The cry of the messiah rings in our ears “ woman, free from your infirmity”! Why are we remaining bent??
