The Election and The Kingdom.

The Election and The Kingdom.

Finally after what was could be considered the one off if not the longest running Presidential election in America’s history, the votes have been cast, and the choice is made. Now we have to live with the choice.

Whilst as an Australian I cannot vote, I, as a minister of the Gospel of the Kingdom, do have an opinion. From a biblical vantage point, I do not consider the choice the best for the nation, for the selection was not on the future direction of the country as much as it was, a reaction and rejection of the past, two terms under Presidency of George W. Bush. This reactionary way, is not demonstrating wisdom, as change would have happened even if the other choice won.

The nature of modern life, and especially the Christian church, that is more focused on the ‘great escape’, a demonstrated of the fact that we are only concerned about tomorrow, next week, next year, or the next term. We do not consider the consequences of the next decade, or the next two generations. Jesus said; “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”. Matt. 6:21. If we don’t understand God from the multi-generation model He demonstrated to us, then we miss the point and cannot understand the future, nor can we know the future unless we understand, original intent. If we don’t understand God’s original intent, there is no way we will be able to understand the original intent of the founders, who understood the intent of the Pilgrims, and re-enforced it through the Constitution.

Modern man’s mindset is, I need to spend my treasure today for tomorrow I die. Oh and if I lose it all before I die, then the government can look after me. So everything, including the decisions I make is based on, what is good for me today? This is so clearly demonstrated by abortion, and homosexuality. Abortion, because abortion is not just the death/murder of one innocent child, it is the murder of generations. It is generally seen as the removal of an inconvenience, rather than a child, the seed of the future. Homosexuality, because those practicing this abominal lifestyle, cannot reproduce after their own kind, so they perpetuate their lifestyle by sucking someone else into it. Or they get someone else to produce offspring for them, and that child is then born out of covenant.
A child born out of covenant, has no identity, but is given another’s identity. That is why God says do not fornicate or commit adultery, because to do so will probably produce a child. In the study of scripture we see that a child’s identity does not come from the man and woman, but from the covenant. As believers our identity comes from the New Covenant, through Jesus Christ, who cut the Covenant. Any offspring born out of the covenant are considered, bastard sons, thus illegitimate, its not the child’s fault, but fact, and the fault of those who committed the act. Adults rather than take responsibility, confess sin, use emotion to change the status of the child. There is no repentance, for there is no change of direction, or changing the status.

But now the choice has been made and the die cast, the American people, who are the real government of the nation, need to hold their representatives in Congress and the Senate and the Presidency, accountable to the Constitution, and any law that is passed by the Executive and Legislative branches, that is not constitutional, is not law. For the Constitution is the law of the land. As Abraham Lincoln said, Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth. Most people think that the term ‘government of the people, by the people, and for the people’ was from Lincoln, however he took the quote from history, and added, ‘shall not pass from the earth. So where did he get the quote from, the quote was from John Wycliffe 1320 – 1384. Wycliffe was the first to translate the bible into the English language, which was the main precursor of the Protestant Reformation.

So where to from here?

The truth is that God’s kingdom will thrive, no matter what happens, for God is still on the Throne, and as Psalm 110:1 “The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.” The writer to the Hebrews concurs, when he states. “But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool”. Heb 12: 12,13. His arm is not shortened that He cannot save.

So many believers, are waiting for Jesus to come and bring the kingdom, when the truth is He already has, we have been taught to think the Kingdom is visible, when it is invisible, and needs to be manifested through us. The kingdom does not come from the top down, or the outside in, but is built from the bottom up and the inside out.

The Kingdom is not a political realm, but it is to manifest through sons of God who minister in the political realm. The Kingdom of God does not have its own monetary currency but is to manifest in and through the currencies that the sons of God use in their daily life. The Kingdom of God is to be manifested through, all the spheres of influence in the world, note I didn’t say of the world. What are these kingdoms, or sphere’s of influence. They are education, communications [media], arts and entertainment, politics [government], economics, family, and religion. We also need to understand that these kingdoms as John the apostle writes, “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become [the kingdoms] of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.” Rev 11:15. “Are become,” is in the aorist, indicative tense meaning ‘did’, it is a part of the finished work, that we have to enter in. In other words, Christ’s finished work, have given us the ability to manifest in the natural, what is already an accomplished fact. Will we have to fight to take possession? Yes; but we don’t fight to get the victory, we fight from The Victory He has given us. Do we fight with weapons? No, we fight from the realm of servanthood, not as servants, but as sons of God.

It matters not who seems to be in control, read history. Even modern history has shown that where the christian faith has been outlawed, it has grown. China is a real example, it is as John Piper said, A modern day example of what happenned when the stone was put over Jesus tomb, and everyone thought it was over, but even behind closed doors, the Power of God was at work.

We do not know what will happen during the next administration, nor do we know, what condition the country will be in, at the time of the next election, but I do know that God is and will still be on the throne. From that perspective we need to, work to keep the Spirit of unity, not try to bring made made unity, then we will see the people of this nation seek us for answers.

Ah some say, but the world doesn’t look to the church for answers now, there’s the rub, because the church over the last 50 –100 years is not really the church, but just another religion in the Pantheon of religions. Until we become the church that Jesus was talking about in Matt 16:18, we will continue to see the gates of hell prevailing against, what we think is the church.

We need to go back to becoming the first century church again, that knew how to rule and reign with Christ. A church that is not interested in having a religious service once a week, with a CEO giving a pep talk, geeing up the troops with spiritual sounding cliché’s, but is focused on learning the ‘faith once delivered to the saints’ and being discipled. Nor having an emotional experience, goose bumps and all, but no power outside the four walls. But rather seeing that each individual member knows how to and is encouraged by becoming the minister of God, ministering in their individual sphere of influence.

“But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” 1Pe 2:9
