Prayer request

Dear Praying Army of POG,

I'm asking for your much needed prayers. My ex-husband has filed motions to change in court. He would like to not only end his alimony payments but he is asking the court to claw back payments that he's already paid. Plus cancel the arrears he still owes us. I got a booklet of motions he's filed. Leaving me with no choice other than respond and contest his motions. If all his motions were passed - I would wind up owing him money!

I'm a disabled single mother, my daughter who just turned 18 also has health issues and is unable to work - not even part time - she can barely manage the 2 courses at High School. I don't know how on earth I'm going to afford a lawyer to fight him in court... I do qualify for legal aid, but they want to put a lean on my house and have me take a second mortgage - It seems like a bad idea to put my home at risk like that. The ex made $130k USD last year, plus he came into a large inheritance - so he can easily afford to keep it going on and on.

I really need prayer that I will find a lawyer that would be willing to take my case for cheap or ideally for cost. I also need His wisdom in how to respond and proceed plus His strength and peace of mind.

Please also pray for my daughter - she has always been afraid that we'd "end up as bag people". I didn't even have the opportunity to keep this from her as the Bailiff left messages on the phone and she heard them. Now she's having trouble sleeping and has been expriencing nightmares.

I had 30 days to make a response to all the motions for change my ex had made. I also had to come up with a budget which was (for reasons I don't understand) beyond me. My goodness it was hard, I had to figure out all my 'actual' expenses plus prepare a proposed budget. I know I missed stuff and it probably doesn't balance but I did my best and signed my name.

The Lawyer wasn't ready with his stuff so he actually missed the dead line... but tells me not to worry. They almost always get an extension granted. *ack*

We have an initial court date on June 24th - at which not much happens apparently - a judge will review the different parties motions and a trial date will be set.

My lawyer is asking for a lot more money. We have Gov tables for child support and a guide line for spousal support. My lawyer is surprised my ex brought any motion at all as things may wind up costing him much more now.

My Pastor is always saying how the wealth of the wicked is being saved up for the saints... I'm praying that's what will happen here.
